Website uptime monitoring with 5-minute checks
SREmonitor checks your website every 5 minutes and records availability, error rate, HTTP status and response latency, then alerts you by email or webhook when something crosses a threshold. It is part of a single dashboard that also covers website performance and GDPR compliance, for businesses and agencies.
Start monitoring free →What uptime monitoring is
Uptime monitoring means a service outside your own infrastructure repeatedly requests your site and records whether it answered correctly and how quickly. If your site is down, your own server cannot tell you, which is why the check has to come from somewhere else.
The useful numbers are availability (the share of checks that succeeded over a window such as 30 days), response time, and the HTTP status returned. A page that returns a server error or takes many seconds to answer is failing visitors even if it is technically reachable.
What SREmonitor records on every check
- Availability: the proportion of requests that succeeded.
- Error rate: the proportion of requests that returned a server error.
- Status code: the HTTP status of the latest response, so a 200 is distinguishable from a 500, 502 or 404.
- Latency p50 and p95: median and 95th percentile response time, because a good average can hide slow outliers.
Alerts that avoid the noise
You can set rules on availability and latency with a threshold and a time window, and give each a severity of critical, warning or info. Alerts go to email addresses or to a webhook you point at your own tooling. Using a time window rather than a single failed request is what stops a one-off network blip from paging you at night.
For the reasoning behind this, read our guide to what to track in uptime monitoring and how often to check it.
Service level targets built in
Each monitored site carries default targets you can adjust: 99.9% availability over 30 days, and latency targets for p50 and p95 response time. Setting a target turns a pile of numbers into a clear answer to whether the site is meeting the standard you set for it.
Who it is for
- Owners of sites where downtime costs sales or bookings, such as shops, restaurants, clinics and service businesses.
- Agencies that need to know a client site is down before the client does.
- Anyone replacing a manual habit of checking the site by hand.
What it does not do
Being clear about limits matters more than a longer feature list.
- Checks run from the UK. There is no multi-region consensus checking from locations around the world.
- Alerts go by email or webhook only. There is no SMS or phone-call alerting.
- The check requests your public URL. It does not log in or walk through a multi-step transaction such as a checkout.

Frequently asked questions
How often does SREmonitor check my site?
Uptime checks run every 5 minutes.
What does SREmonitor measure for uptime?
Availability, error rate, the latest HTTP status code, and median and 95th percentile response latency.
How do I get alerted when my site goes down?
Configure an alert rule with a threshold and time window, and choose email or webhook delivery. Rules carry a severity of critical, warning or info.
Is uptime monitoring free?
The Free plan monitors up to 3 endpoints with 3 days of history. Pro monitors up to 20 endpoints with 3 months of history.
Does it do more than check that the site responds?
Yes. The same dashboard tracks Core Web Vitals performance and runs automated GDPR privacy-policy checks, so you see speed and compliance alongside availability.
